How do I compare dynamic energy contracts?
All suppliers use the same market prices. They differ in the purchase mark-up per kWh, the fixed costs per month and what they pay or charge for feeding back. Which contract is cheapest depends on your usage and feed-in.
What to look at
The purchase mark-up per kWh you take from the grid, the fixed supply costs per month, what you get for feeding back (the market price, with or without a mark-up) and whether there are feed-in costs. A low mark-up with high fixed costs can be more expensive at low usage than the other way round.
Why calculate per hour
A comparison with a single average price misses when you use and feed back electricity. With solar panels you mostly feed back during cheap hours and take from the grid during more expensive ones. The calculator works out every contract for every hour of a year with your own usage and generation.
Promotions and bonuses
Welcome bonuses and promotions only count in the first year. Energie27 compares without them; you can enter a bonus yourself if you want to include it.
