How much of my solar power do I use myself?
For an ordinary household without a battery, often 30 to 40 percent. The rest goes to the grid. To see how much it is for you, compare the generation in your inverter's app with the feed-in on your annual statement.
Self-consumption is the part of your solar power that you use at the moment it is generated. Generation minus feed-in is what you used yourself. With net metering that makes little difference; without net metering, every kWh of self-consumption is worth more than a kWh fed back.
Increasing it
Shifting use to sunny hours (washing machine, dishwasher, the water heater), charging the car on surplus solar power or a home battery. Which of the three helps most depends on when you are at home and what you already have.
